The Animal Rescue Committee of Slave Lake is made up of a diverse group of individuals working towards a solution for the lack of a humane holding facility for lost or stray animals found within town and surrounding areas. Since March of 2005, ARC has become a registered society, set up foster homes, rescued hundreds of dogs and cats and successfully found homes for them. We also accept food donations and supplies from generous members of our community which helps feed and care for our foster dogs and cats.
With your support we hope to achieve our goals and be able to open our doors to any animal in need of help. We will be able to house more dogs at one time, rescue cats and other animals needing homes and offer dog obedience and training classes and educational classes to our younger generations.
ARC is not funded by any local or provincial entities and survives solely on the generosity of our community and hard working volunteers.
Animal Rescue Committee is a not for profit group of volunteers whose aim is to rescue homeless and abandoned animals in our community and surrounding areas.
We wish to provide veterinary treatment to sick or injured animals and temporary foster homes while waiting for responsible permanent homes to be found.
We encourage the spay and neuter of animals in order to reduce over population, suffering and disease.
We promote RESPONSIBLE pet ownership, humane treatment, compassion and respect for all animals.
